According to BigGameHunter.Name, Ubisoft Motion Pictures have attached actor Michael Fassbender ("X-Men: First Class") to star in and co-produce a feature film adaptation of the Ubisoft video game series "Assassin's Creed".
Ubisoft will finance the feature independently through their Ubisoft Motion Pictures (UMP) division led by former EuropaCorp CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet.
"Assassin's Creed: Revelations", the fourth game in the series is now available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with the support of Ubisoft studios Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest, "Assassin's Creed Revelations" is the culmination of the adventure of 'Ezio'.
"...In 'Assassin's Creed Revelations', 'Ezio Auditore' walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, 'Altaïr', on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of 'Templars' threatens to destabilize the region..."
"Delivering the final chapter of 'Ezio' was an important milestone in the 'Assassin's Creed' franchise for us and for our fans," said Alexandre Amancio, Creative Director @ Ubisoft Montreal.
Initially launched in 2007, the first three "Assassin's Creed" games have sold more than 28 million units worldwide. The first "Assassin's Creed", developed by Ubisoft Montreal, follows bartender 'Desmond Miles', captured by megacorporation 'Abstergo Industries'.
Using a machine known as the 'Animus', Desmond is forced to relive the memories of his ancestors, who were all assassins, in order to recover artifacts, called the 'Pieces of Eden'.
