Director Gary Ross ("The Hunger Games") is now attached to direct the feature adaptation of the biography "The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero," by authors William Kalush and Larry Sloman. The book, published in 2006, suggested that 'Harry Houdini', famous magician and escape artist, was a spy for Britain and adviser to Czar Nicholas II's court in pre-revolutionary Russia.
The book also portrays Houdini as a 'debunker' of con artists, exposing 'fraud mediums' as part of his act, theorizing that his death from a blow to the stomach was caused by an organized conspiracy by the 'spiritualist 'movement. Click the images to enlarge...
