"The Avengers": $641.8 Million In 12 Days

Marvel's "The Avengers" smashed its way into box-office history, earning $200.3 million for the biggest three-day domestic weekend ever. 

The comic book adaptation, from Disney and Marvel Entertainment also added another $151.5 million from 52 overseas territories this weekend for a foreign box-office total of $441.5 million.


Grand total for the film after only 12 days in release is $641.8 million. 

The new movie, adapting Marvel Comics "The Avengers" superhero team-up  showcases superheroes 'Iron Man', 'The Incredible Hulk', 'Thor', 'Captain America', 'Hawkeye' and 'Black Widow' :

"When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, 'Nick Fury', Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as 'S.H.I.E.L.D.', finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.

"Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins..."

"The Avengers" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, written and directed by Joss Whedon.
