Chloe Moretz Is King's "Carrie"

Teen actress Chloe Moretz ("Kick-Ass") has confirmed she will play the title role of 'Carrie White' in director Kimberly Peirce' upcoming MGM/Screen Gems remake of author Stephen King's supernatural thriller "Carrie".

"Never been so happy in my life!", said Moretz. "Thank you Kim Peirce and thank you MGM for the chance of a lifetime I will never forget!"

First published in 1974, "Carrie" follows 'Carrie White', a shy and naive high-school student, who uses newly discovered 'telekinetic' powers to exact revenge on the school bullies who tease her.

Several adaptations of "Carrie" have been released, including a 1976 feature film directed by Brian De Palma, a 1988 Broadway musical, a 1999 feature film sequel and a 2002 television movie.
