According to new reports, director Steven Spielberg is moving closer to directing his biblical epic, "Gods and Kings", for Warner Bros. following the Old Testament story of religious leader, lawgiver and prophet, 'Moses.'
Screenplay is by Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine for producers Dan Lin ("Sherlock Holmes") and Matti Leshem.
Charting the Moses story from birth to death will include his consolidation of the Hebrew tribes in Canaan towards the end of the Bronze Age, freeing his people from Egyptian slavery, the parting of the Red Sea and receiving the 'Ten Commandments'.
Charlton Heston previously portrayed Moses in the 1956 feature "The Ten Commandments" and Sir Ben Kingsley played him in the 1995 TV movie "Moses".
