New Fashion Blog Strictly From "Hunger"

"Capitol Couture", a new 'fashion & culture', viral blog site from Lionsgate, supports the upcoming feature "The Hunger Games", showcasing modern fashion advertising alongside editorials and ads from "The Hunger Games" film universe, including designer fashion outfits and blood-red nail polish modeled by the main character of the film, 'Effie Trinket' (Elizabeth Banks).

Directed by Gary Ross ("Pleasantville") , "The Hunger Games" film is based on "The Hunger Games" 'young adult' novel trilogy, by author Suzanne Collins.

Cast also includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg.

The first motion picture adaptation is based on the first novel of Collins'"The Hunger Games" trilogy.

The other two novels in the series are"Catching Fire"and "Mockingjay".

Screenplay For "The Hunger Games" is by Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass").

Premise follows a teenage girl forced to represent her 'region' in an annual 'Hunger Games' event, where participants must fight to the death :

"...set in the future, 16-year-old 'Katniss Everdeen' is living with her mother and little sister in what's left of North America, in one of 12 districts all being run by the 'Capitol'. Despite mastering the skill of hunting and trapping edible plants, Katniss still struggles to keep her family from going hungry.
"Each year, the names of all residents between the ages of 12 and 18 are entered into a lottery and two names, one girl and one boy, are chosen at random from each district to compete in the televised 'Hunger Games'. The 24 children must try to kill each other off and the last one standing is rewarded by the Capitol with a feast of food.

When her little sister's name is selected, Katniss steps up to take her place in the deadly competition..."

Lionsgate will release the first film March 23, 2012.
