Updated Profiles For 'Thor' And 'Loki'

Sneak Peek the new profile character posters showcasing the characters 'Loki' and 'Thor' from the upcoming Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics adaptation "Thor", opening May 6, 2011.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz, and Don Payne, "Thor" is scheduled to be released in 2D and IMAX 3D.

"...'The Mighty Thor' is a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Schwarzenegger Rules As "The Governator"

Sneak Peek the first trailer supporting the upcoming animated series "The Governator", starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The former California governor teamed up with "Spider-Man" creator Stan Lee to launch the television cartoon/comic book series, combining elements of Schwarzenegger's real life with comic book fantasy :

"...In this bizarro alternate cartoon world, Schwarzenegger leaves the office of governor of California to become a super-suited crime fighter who battles an evil syndicate nicknamed 'G.I.R.L.I.E. Men', alongside a 13-year-old computer whiz sidekick.."

"We’re using his wife," Stan Lee said. "We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor.

"Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood."

"The Governator" is due to debut in 2012.

Vancouver Sinks Its Teeth Into "Underworld 4: New Dawn"

Further to our first reports March 8, 2011, production is now underway (March 7, 2011 to June 3, 2011) in Vancouver on the 4th installment in the Screen Gems/Lakeshore Entertainment "Underworld" movie franchise.

"Underworld 4: New Dawn", following the battle between 'Vampires' and 'Lycans', is the first film in the franchise to shoot in 3D.

Actress Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress 'Selene', who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

"Underworld 4" is directed by Mans Marlind & Bjorn Stein ("Shelter") for producers Tom Rosenberg, Len Wiseman and executive producers David Kern, David Coatsworth, Henry Winterstern and Skip Williamson.

The previous 3 "Underworld" features, "Underworld" (2003), "Underworld: Evolution" (2006) and "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) internationally earned a box office total of $298,376,455.

"Underworld 4" is scheduled for release January 2012.

"Smallville: Booster" - April 22, 2011

According to VancouverFilm.Net, the episode airing April 22, 2011, of the Vancouver-lensed CW TV series "Smallville", written by Geoff Johns and directed by Tom Welling. is titled "Booster" :

"...After everything that happened with the 'VRA' ('Vigilante Registration Act') , 'Lois' (Erica Durance) tells 'Clark' (Tom Welling) it's best to make 'Clark Kent' forgettable and awkward so people don't suspect he's 'The Blur'.

"However, the two are stunned when a fame-hungry superhero from the future, 'Booster Gold' (Eric Martsolf), sweeps into town and begins making saves and posing for press ops, completely winning over the city of 'Metropolis'.

"Booster begins his campaign to take The Blur's place as the 'World's Greatest Superhero' and tries to charm Lois into writing a story about him, but she's not having his antics and begins her own campaign for The Blur.

"During one of Booster's saves, an alien weapon in the form of a scarab falls from a truck and fuses itself to a boy named 'Jaime Reyes' (Jaden Brandt Bartlett), turning him into the 'Blue Beetle'. Unfortunately, Jaime is unable to control the suit and Blue Beetle starts attacking Metropolis..."

Jennifer Lawrence Feeds Off "The Hunger Games"

Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence ("Winters Bone") has won the lead in Lionsgate's upcoming 3-film franchise "The Hunger Game".

Director Gary Ross ("Pleasantville") will take on the big-screen adaptation of the first novel in author Suzanne Collins book trilogy, "The Hunger Games". The other two novels are "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay".

Screenplay is by Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass").

Lionsgate will release the first film March 23, 2012.

Premise revolves around 'Katniss Everdeen', a teenage girl, who is forced to represent her region in the annual 'Hunger Games' event, where participants must fight to the death.

"...In this futuristic world, traditional government has gone by the wayside and America is split into 12 regions, each of which must send contestants to this deadly battle each year."

"The Hunger Games" will start filming later this year.

"Supernatural: The Anime Series" - July 26, 2011

Warner Bros. Television’s, Vancouver-lensed TV series "Supernatural" has been reimagined as a 22-episode, Japanese anime cartoon, directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Atsuko Ishizuka.

The new series mirrors the story arc of the series’ first two TV seasons, providing supplemental stories ranging from prequels and spin-offs to untold tales that fit within the series' mythology.

"...'Supernatural: The Anime Series' revisits the 'Winchester' brothers’ journey down the backroads of America as they search for clues to their father’s disappearance, hunt down the supernatural in all its unearthly forms, and enter into the unexpected mystery of their destinies.."

"Supernatural" actor Jared Padalecki reprises his role as 'Sam Winchester' for all 22 episodes, with actor Jensen Ackles providing the voice of 'Dean Winchester'.

"Supernatural: The Anime Series" will be released July 26, 2011 by Warner Home Video on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and for Download.

The "Hellcats" Will Eat You For Breakfast

Sneak Peek new 'zombie' key art supporting the Vancouver-lensed TV series "Hellcats".

The CW 'cheerleader' drama returns for a new season April 19, with an episode following 'Dan' (Matt Barr) who shoots a zombie student film production and casts the 'Hellcats' as his actors.

"Hellcats" is based on the book "Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders" by journalist/author Kate Torgovnick.


The series focuses on the life of college cheerleaders 'Marti Perkins' (Alyson Michalka), a pre-law college student who joins the school cheerleading team 'Hellcats', in order to maintain her scholarship.

"...'Marti Perkins (Michalka) a student at Lancer University, lost her scholarship and has no other choice but to join the college's cheer squad the 'Hellcats'. There she meets her new roommate and team captain 'Savannah Monroe' (Ashley Tisdale), the injured flyer 'Alice Verdura' (Heather Hemmens), her new partner 'Lewis Flynn' (Robbie Jones) and the Hellcats coach 'Vanessa Lodge' (Sharon Leal). Marti also has to deal with her financially unstable and sometimes irresponsible mother, 'Wanda Perkins' (Gail O'Grady), whom she often has to bail out of difficult situations and her best friend 'Dan Patch' (Matt Barr) who has just started dating Savannah.

Actor Tom Welling ("Smallville") teamed with Kevin Murphy to executive produce the series, (as part of Welling's ongoing deal with Warners TV). Pilot episode was written by Murphy and directed by Allan Arkush.

Hurd Sets Sail For "Port Royal"

GK-tv, a division of GK Films, and Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment have partnered to develop/produce a one-hour dramatic television series titled "Port Royal".

Set in the late 17th century on the island of Jamaica, the series will chronicle the namesake port’s notorious rise as "...the richest and wickedest city in the new world" and as a self-governing safe haven for cutthroat pirates, corrupt politicians, and ruthless merchants.

"I have been obsessed with pirates and Port Royal for years, and have a library of books on the subject," said Hurd.

"The real story of privateers and the politics of the era has never been explored on screen, and I’m excited to bring that world to life with the terrific team at GK-tv".

"In keeping with our focus on cinematic television with a global perspective, we see Gale and her team at Valhalla as a phenomenal partner in creating a gritty and authentic series of fantastic scope, set in the dangerous world of Port Royal," said Craig Cegielski. President, GK-tv.
Executive producers include Valhalla Entertainment chairman Hurd, GK-tv’s Cegielski, GK Film’s Graham King and Tim Headington.

Valhalla’s Kris Henigman and Ben Roberts will be the company’s creative executives on the series.

Valhalla recently launched zombie TV series "The Walking Dead" for AMC.

GK-tv’s first television series "Camelot" starring Joseph Fiennes, Jamie Campbell Bower and Eva Green premiered on Starz, April 1.
