Great Expectations For "What To Expect When You're Expecting"

According to reports, the upcoming Lionsgate feature "What To Expect When You're Expecting", based on author Heidi Murkoff's best-seller, has now cast Anna Kendrick ("Up In The Air"), to co-star in the film, alongside Brooklyn Decker, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.

To be directed by Kirk Jones ("Nanny McPhee"), the romantic comedy will start shooting later this summer for a May 11, 2012 release.

Murkoff's pregnancy guide, now in its fourth edition, co-written with Sharon Mazel, was originally published in 1984, and to date has sold over 14.5 million copies.

The book's increasing popularity is noted in the feature "Knocked Up", when character 'Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) is seen reading the book, in Season 8 of TV sitcom "Friends", when pregnant character 'Rachel Green' (Jennifer Aniston) is seen reading the book, in "Degrassi: The Next Generation" when character 'Emma Nelson' (Miriam McDonald) shows off a baby picture from the book, and in "Weeds", when character 'Nancy Botwin' (Mary-Louise Parker) also is seen reading the book during her pregnancy.
