Actress Elizabeth Banks has now been cast for the upcoming Lionsgate, romantic ensemble, "What to Expect When Your Expecting", based on author Heidi Murkoff's best-seller .
Banks will play the author of a manual on breast-feeding, joining the cast of Anna Kendrick, Brooklyn Decker, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.
To be directed by Kirk Jones ("Nanny McPhee"), the comedy will start shooting this summer for a May 11, 2012 release.
Murkoff's pregnancy guide, now in its fourth edition, co-written with Sharon Mazel, was originally published in 1984, and to date has sold over 14.5 million copies.The book's increasing popularity is noted in the feature "Knocked Up", when character 'Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) is seen reading the book, in Season 8 of TV sitcom "Friends", when pregnant character 'Rachel Green' (Jennifer Aniston) is seen reading the book, in "Degrassi: The Next Generation" when character 'Emma Nelson' (Miriam McDonald) shows off a baby picture from the book, and in "Weeds", when character 'Nancy Botwin' (Mary-Louise Parker) also is seen reading the book during her pregnancy.
