Miller & Stentz Catch "The Fall Guy"

According to reports, writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz ("Thor", "X-Men: First Class") are developing a new screenplay based on the action/adventure, stunt man TV series "The Fall Guy" for the husband-wife team of DreamWorks' producers Walter F. Parkes ("Gladiator") and Laurie MacDonald ("Men In Black III").

ABC's "The Fall Guy", created by Glen A. Larson ("Battlestar Galactica") originally aired November 4, 1981 to May 2, 1986, starring actors Lee Majors, Douglas Barr and Heather Thomas :

"...'Colt Seavers', a Hollywood stunt man who moonlights as a bounty hunter, uses his physical skills and knowledge of stunt effects to capture fugitives and criminals, accompanied by his cousin and stuntman-in-training 'Howie Munson' and female stunt performer 'Jody Banks'..."

Typically, each episode would start with a voice-over introduction from Seavers explaining the precarious life of a Hollywood stuntman, how he is unable to make a full-time living from stunt work and forced to moonlight as a bounty hunter.

The show's theme song, "Unknown Stuntman", was written by Larson, Gail Jensen, and David Sommerville and performed by Lee Majors. The lyrics include a reference to Majors' then-estranged wife, Farrah Fawcett and bemoaning the fact that while he takes all the risks it is the stars like Clint Eastwood or Robert Redford who "...get the glory and the girls..."
