"The Bionic Man" : Better, Stronger, Faster

Dynamite Entertainment's "The Bionic Man" #1, available August 2011, is written by Kevin Smith and Phil Hester, with illustrations by Jonathan Lau and covers by Lau, Alex Ross, Paul Renaud and Stephen Segovia :

"'Steve Austin' is back and film maker Kevin Smith unleashes his high-octane vision in this new series from Dynamite. Featuring 28 pages of story/art in an action-packed first issue..."

The new comic book series is based on the "Six Million Dollar Man", the 1970's, ABC TV series.

That show followed a former astronaut and crash victim, with bionic implants working for the 'OSI' (Office of Scientific Intelligence), which in turn was based on the 1972 novel "Cyborg" by author Martin Caidin.

"...'Steve Austin', astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster..."
