"Superman" Soars Past Alberta
According to the Alberta provincial minister of Culture, Lindsay Blackett, Warners upcoming feature "Superman: Man Of Steel", currently booked for studio work in Vancouver, BC, will also lense in Chicago, Illinois, instead of Alberta.
"It was us or them," said Blackett. ""From what I understand the production needed aircraft carriers and the Canadian military doesn't have those. They needed attack helicopters and things like that and we just don't have them and the US was willing to give them whatever they wanted."
Alberta lost the film, said Blackett, because "It was just down to the hard assets."
