According to reports, Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight") is in talks to direct 20th Century Fox' "The Maze Runner", based on the first book in author James Dashner's sci-fi trilogy, from Random House's Delacorte Press.
Dashner is expected to adapt the screenplay for producer Lindsay Williams of The Gotham Group.Premise of the books, focuses on a boy named 'Thomas' who wakes up in the mysterious 'Glade', an enclosed structure populated by other boys, surrounded by stone walls that protect them from monsters called the 'Grievers'.
