Landry Conjures Up "Skulduggery Pleasant"

New reports confirm that screen rights to a CGI adaptation of author Derek Landry's "Skulduggery Pleasant", the first book in a 9-volume fantasy series, previously in development at Warners, has now reverted back to Landry.

The story, first published in 2007, follows 'Skulduggery Pleasant', an undead wizard and detective, with his partner 'Stephanie Edgley' (aka 'Valkyrie Cain') and numerous magic-wielding allies as they try to prevent 'Nefarian Serpine' from unleashing a weapon of terrible power on the world.

The book was retitled "Sceptre Of The Ancients" for the 2009 paperback release in the US and Canada.
