According to casting breakdowns recently circulated to agents, director Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot "Superman: Man Of Steel", will follow 'Clark Kent' as a young rookie reporter, working as a foreign correspondent in West Africa.
While in Africa, Clark is witness to violent events between two African clans, that causes him to question his alien origins and superpowers.
The storyline is similar to DC Comics' "Superman: Birthright", a twelve-issue limited series published in 2003 and 2004, written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu, intended to be an 'ultimate' version of Superman, showcasing his origin and updating him for the 21st Century.
