"The Incredible Hulk" Stomping Back To TV

ABC and Marvel Television are currently developing a live-action TV series adaptation of Marvel Comics' "The Incredible Hulk".

Launched June 2010, Marvel TV is actively adapting several Marvel super-hero characters for the small screen, led by producer Jeph Loeb, noted for the CW's Vancouver-lensed "Smallville" TV series.

The 'Hulk' character was created for Marvel Comics by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, debuting in "The Incredible Hulk" #1 (May 1962).

'The Hulk' creature is the emotional and impulsive alter ego of withdrawn physicist 'Dr. Bruce Banner', who involuntarily turns into the monster after being exposed to the blast of a detonation of a 'gamma bomb' he invented. Strong emotions such as anger, terror and grief, trigger Banner's transformation into the Hulk.

The character has previously been depicted in other media, including a live-action TV series for CBS airing from 1978-1982, six TV movies, various animated series, video games and the features "Hulk" (2003) and "The Incredible Hulk" (2008).
