Swank Stakes Out Carpenter's "Fangland"

According to reports, director John Carpenter ("The Thing") will sink his teeth into "Fangland", a new 'vampire' feature to be headlined by Oscar winner Hilary Swank ("Million Dollar Baby"). Swank will also produce with Sriram Das of Das Films and Jason Blum of Blumhouse.

Based on author John Marks novel, re-imagining author Bram Stoker's "Dracula", "Fangland" focuses on 'Evangeline Harker', a producer on a "60 Minutes" type news magazine show, who goes to 'Transylvania' to cover a story on a notorious Romanian arms dealer, regarded as a modern-day 'Dracula'.

Harker inexplicably disappears, only to turn up months later in a monastery, suffering from amnesia. After her return to New York, 'strange experiences' begin to occur, with no easy rational explanation.
