Scorsese Sees 3D For "Hugo Cabret"

Director Martin "Mean Streets" Scorsese will shoot his next feature in 3D, based on the 533-page best-selling children's book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" by author Brian Selznick.

Sony will distribute the GK Films live-action feature, slated for release Dec. 9, 2011.

Premise of the story, set in 1930's Paris follows 12-year-old orphan 'Hugo', who lives in a train station and must finish what his late father started "...by solving the mystery of a broken robot..."

"Hugo" starts shooting in London, UK this June, based on a screenplay by writer
John Logan ("The Aviator") .
