Megan Fox Loves "Jonah Hex"

Sneak Peek the new poster and trailer, supporting Warners upcoming 'weird western' DC comic book adaptation "Jonah Hex", starring actor Josh Brolin.

Director Jimmy Hayward's upcoming feature will be released June 18, 2010.

"...'Jonah Hex' (Brolin) is a drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone... and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side."

"His only human connection is with 'Leila' (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own.

"But Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist 'Quentin Turnbull' (John Malkovich).

"But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead..."

Created by writer John Albano and illustrator Tony DeZuniga, 'Jonah Woodson Hex' debuted in the early 1970's DC comic titles "All-Star Western" before getting a solo series 1977-1986. Another comic book series was also launched in 2005, with Hex transported to the future (2025).

Jonah Hex had battled alcoholism and as an adult saw his mother turn to prostitution to make ends meet. Though he traveled extensively throughout the American West, Hex also ended up in South America and China. At one point he quit bounty hunting, got married, had a son and took up farming, although it did not last.

Hex' facial injuries can be traced back to being sold into slavery by his father to the Apache for safe passage. Hex saved the chief of the tribe from being killed by a mountain lion, but was betrayed by the chief's son while on a raid.
Hex returned years later to challenge the son in a sacred tomahawk battle but the Apache brave sabotaged Hex' tomahawk, forcing him to use his own knife in self defense when the tomahawk broke. The tribe saw this as breaking the rules of the 'sacred battle', sentencing Hex to wear the 'mark of the demon' by pressing a searing hot tomahawk to his face, with his relationship to the chief the only thing saving him from death.
