Stewart And Fanning Chase "The Runaways"- March 19

Sneak Peek the new poster and trailer for the Joan Jett biopic "The Runaways," based on the exploits of the 1970's rock band.

'The Runaways' were the first commercially successful all-girl hard rock band, formed in 1975 by rock impresario Kim Fowley, who thought a novelty act of teenage girls performing in leather would be an easy sell, but the group only lasted four years, eventually breaking apart over management/money issues.

Jett continued performing throughout the 1980's, forming a new group "The Blackhearts", releasing top-10 hits including "I Love Rock N' Roll".

Written/directed by Floria Sigismondi, "The Runaways" adapts lead-singer Cherie Currie's 1989 autobiography "Neon Angel: The Cherie Currie Story" detailing the group's rise to fame and Currie's battle with drug and alcohol addiction.

Kristen Stewart plays 'Joan Jett', co-founding member and rhythm guitarist of the band, Dakota Fanning is 'Cherie Currie', the band's lead vocalist, Scout Taylor-Compton is 'Lita Ford', the band's second lead guitarist, Stella Maeve is 'Sandy West', co-founding member/drummer of the band, Alia Shawkat is 'Robin', the band's bassist and Michael Shannon is Kim Fowley, the band's manager and producer.

The film premiered at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival January 24th and will be released to select North American theatres March 19, 2010.
