Lakeshore Resurrecting "I, Frankenstein"

Production company Lakeshore Entertainment ("Crank 2: High Voltage", "The Ugly Truth") has come on board the potential horror movie franchise' "I, Frankenstein", acquiring the project from Death Ray Films, developers of the comic book adaptation since April 2009.

The project is based on the "I, Frankenstein" comic book series from "Underworld" co-creator Kevin Grevioux, who adapted the screenplay for "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" director Patrick Tatopoulos.

"I, Frankenstein, resurrects classic (public domain) monster characters including Frankenstein's monster, the 'Invisible Man', 'Dracula' and the 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' in a modern 'film noir' setting.

"...The monster has evolved; he has learned how to control his anger and is a private investigator. 'Dracula', meanwhile, is a crime kingpin. The story sees the monster as the only thing standing between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures..."
