Megan Fox Takes Aim At "Jonah Hex"...

"Jonah Hex" is the upcoming 'weird' Western film based on the DC Comics character of the same name.

Under Warner Bros., the film is directed by Jimmy Hayward and stars actor Josh Brolin as the scarred bounty hunter 'Hex', with Megan Fox as his love interest.

Filming began in Louisiana April 2009, in New Orleans, shooting near the French Market May 31, 2009.

First appearing in DC Comics' "All-Star Western" #10 (Feb-Mar 1972), the character was created by John Albano and Tony DeZuniga as an 'anti-hero' and former officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fighting at Gettysburg.

The look of the character inspired actor Clint Eastwood's portrayal of "The Outlaw Josey Wales" in 1976.

The film is scheduled to be released August 6, 2010...

Emmerich Supports Asimov's "Foundation"...

Director Roland "2012" Emmerich continues to develop a film adaptation of author Issac Asimov's "Foundation" for Columbia Pictures, with Emmerich and his Centropolis partner Michael Wimer producing.

Originally published as a series of eight short stories in "Astounding Magazine" debuting in 1942, "Foundation" is about humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, living under the rule of the 'Galactic Empire', while a 'psycho-historian' envisions the empire's collapse and prepares to save the knowledge of mankind.

Emmerich and Wimer are in post-production on the Vancouver-lensed "2012", aka "Farewell Atlantis" at Sony...


Universal Wants To Do The Right "Thing"...

Universal continues developing a feature remake of "The Thing" with Matthijs Van Heijningen directing, adapting the 1938 "Astounding Magazine" 'novella' "Who Goes There", by author John W. Campbell Jr.

The short story was the basis of a 1980's feature by director John Carpenter and a 1951 film "The Thing From Another World" by director Howard Hawks.

Premise of the original story follows a group of scientific researchers, isolated in Antarctica, that discover an alien spaceship buried in the ice.

They recover the alien pilot that can assume the shape, memories and personality of any living creature.

Strike Entertainment's Eric Newman and Marc Abraham will produce the new film with David Foster executive producing...



"Primeval": The End Of The Evolutionary Road...

Evolutionary scientist 'Professor Nick Cutter' and his team are recruited by the British Government to investigate a series of dinosaur sightings.

From a 'Gorgonopsid' rampaging through the 'Forest of Dean' to a swarm of giant spiders in the tunnels of the 'London Underground', long-extinct creatures tear through portals, emreging into human territory, while Cutter and research assistant 'Stephen Hart' struggle to find answers.

Enlisting the help of zoologist 'Abby Maitland' and student palaeontologist 'Connor Temple', the four work together to uncover the secrets of the temporal anomalies.

The team is abetted by government officials 'James Lester' and 'Claudia Brown' who instruct them to keep the danger secret from the public.

"...Yet inevitably, the past threatens to invade the present and destroy the future..."

The British science fiction TV series, produced for ITV by Impossible Pictures is created by Adrian Hodges and Tim Haines, first broadcast in the UK February 2007, it has since expanded to a North American audience, airing over the Sci Fi Channel.

Plans for a feature film version of "Primeval" are in development at Warner Bros. with Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster producing...
