Sony Pictures has acquired remake rights to the French-Canadian action feature "Fathers and Guns" ("De Pere en flic"), following a father and son cop team assigned to infiltrate an outdoor adventure group-therapy camp.
The adaptation will be developed/produced by Spielberg associates Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall with the original film's producer Denise Robert and writer/director Emile Gaudreault, also on board to produce the remake.
The film reportedly scored two-thirds of the past summer's ticket sales in French-language films in Quebec, to become the highest-grossing French-language film ever released in Quebec and Canada...
