According to BigGameHunterCa, Panasonic will begin selling 'plasma' TVs that will be able to display three-dimensional pictures with the use of special glasses, in 2010.

"It's going to feature in every aspect of home entertainment", said Eisuke Tsuyuzaki, chief technology officer for Panasonic North America.

Tsuyuzaki said developers had to wait for the standardization of HDMI cables that connect components like high-def Blu-ray players to HD televisions. Manufacturers needed to agree on adding a special "pipe" to the cable that was reserved for 3D signals, which they did a few months ago with the HDMI 1.4 standardization.

The second event is the standardization of Blu-ray disc formats, which Tsuyuzaki expects to happen in the next few weeks.

Electronic manufacturers, including Sony, expects sales of more than $11 billion in 3D products by 2013, with PlayStation consoles upgrading to three-dimensional video games...
