Actress Tia "Relic Hunter" Carrere will star in and produce "Wave Dancer," a biopic directed by Martha "Valley Girl" Coolidge about Hawaiian surfer 'Rell Sunn', aka 'Queen of Makaha', a native of Oahu and surfing pioneer, expert diver, black belt holder in karate and hula dancer.
Sunn is also noted for founding a surf contest for children to combat juvenile delinquency.
Screenplay is by Carrere and Simon Wakelin.
Production will start in Hawaii in 2010.
