Warner Bros. will remake director John Boorman's 1981 fantasy-adventure "Excalibur," with Bryan "Superman Returns" Singer attached to produce with Julie Yorn and Polly Johnsen.

"Excalibur" is the name of the magic sword, drawn from a stone, that was wielded by England's legendary King Arthur, according to the 15th century works of author Thomas Malory.

Boorman's film presented a polished version of the 'Knights of the Round Table', 'Merlin' the wizard, Arthur's father 'King Uther', his evil half-sister 'Morgana', the love between 'Lancelot and 'Guinevere' and the quest for the Holy Grail.

Matt Reilly will supervise the redo for Warners, Erik Olsen for Yorn and Alex Garcia for Legendary Prods.
