According to reports, Russian film-maker Timur Bekmambetov has started planning the sequel to his 2008 comic book-to film feature "Wanted", having devised a way to bring back actress Angelina Jolie's character.
"In July we will start preparation," said Bekmambetov.
"I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed in America, India and Russia."Besides Jolie's character 'Fox', Bekmambetov hopes to bring back the character played by actress Kostya Khabenskiy, who previously starred in Bekmambetov's "Night Watch" and "Day Watch".
The sequel is budgeted at $150 million, with Russian crew to be involved in all aspects of production.
The first "Wanted" feature, released June 27, 2008, earned $192 million in worldwide box office.
With obvious interest in the franchise, Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group (UPDPG) spun-off the video game "Wanted: Weapons Of Fate" in March, developed by GRIN, also based on Mark Millar's graphic novel series, following 'Wesley Gibson' who is introduced to a new life and new powers that he never knew existed before...
