Director Fran Rubel Kuzui is working on a relaunch of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" with Vertigo Entertainment.
Created by Joss Whedon, the rights to "Buffy" have been held by Kuzui and her Kuzui Enterprises since 1992, when she discovered the "Buffy" script from Whedon and financed the property with her husband Kaz to produce the 1992 Fox feature film.Kuzui later brought Whedon back in to develop the 1997 "Buffy" spin-off TV series, receiving executive producer credits.
The new "Buffy" reboot would have no connection to the TV series, with the goal to make a "darker, event-sized movie" with franchise potential...
