"Dark Knight" Wins Best Production Design Award...

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) announced the winners of its Excellence in 2008 Production Design Awards in nine categories of film, television, commercials and music videos during black-tie ceremonies @ the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Special awards were presented to Production Designer Paul Sylbert for 'Lifetime Achievement' and to filmmaker George Lucas for 'Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery'.

Art Directors Guild Chairman Thomas A. Walsh presided over the awards ceremony with Bryan Cranston as host, including presenters Richard Benjamin, Taraji P. Henson ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"), Ron Howard, Vincent Kartheiser ("Mad Men"), Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory"), Elizabeth Perkins ("Weeds"), Marisa Tomei ("The Wrestler"), Nadine Velazquez ("My Name is Earl") and Fred Willard ("Wall-E").

During the ceremony ADG inducted five Production Designers into its Hall of Fame: Ted Haworth, Joseph McMillan Johnson, Romain Johnston, John Meehan and Harold Michelson.

The Magnificent 100, the Guild's selection of 100 feature films they consider displays the best production design in theatrical films from 1898 through 2000 was also revealed in a special visual presentation.
