Myriad Pictures and comic book publisher Studio 407 will adapt mini-series "The Night Projectionist" for the big screen.

This is the second title produced under Studio 407's first-look deal with Myriad, with an adaptation of the comic book "Hybrid" scheduled to start production later this year.

Premise of "Projectionist" is set at small-town movie theater, where an all-night 'Draculathon' draws throngs of fans, who suddenly find themselves locked inside the theater as it fills up with vampires.

Myriad's previous feature credits include "Death Defying Acts" and "Kinsey."

"I wanted to write a story that would appeal to hard-core vampire traditionalists", said "Projectionist" creator Robert Heske, "while, at the same time, reinventing the genre by adding my own twist to the vampire myth. I was intrigued by the idea of putting the main action of a vampire story inside a theater because that's where most people were introduced to the vampire myth, inside a movie theater.."
