Fox has ordered a pilot for the US remake of Brit TV comedy series "Absolutely Fabulous".
The new show will be based on the original, following the party-girl exploits of mature fashion publicist 'Edina', editor 'Patsy' and Edina’s 'square' daughter 'Saffron'.
Creator Jennifer Saunders, who wrote/starred in the original series is executive producer on the US version, joined by writer Christine Zander, who is scripting the new version.Other executive producers are Ian Moffitt, Mitch Hurwitz, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum.
Sony Pictures TV is producing with Tantamount and BBC Worldwide Americas.
