Derrickson Makes Time For "Hyperion Cantos"...

Scott "The Day the Earth Stood Still" Derrickson will direct "Hyperion Cantos" for Warner Bros. and GK Films, adapting author Dan Simmons' Hugo award-winning sci-fi novels "Hyperion" and "The Fall of Hyperion".

Screenplay, combining both novels, is by Trevor "Inside" Sands.

Premise of the books, set in the future, follows a space war threatening the planet 'Hyperion', known for 'Time Tomb' artifacts that can move through dimensions, guarded by a monstrous creature called the 'Shrike'...
