When he isn't protecting Gotham City from various villains in the Batmobile as his alter ego, Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne's vehicle of choice is one of Lamborghini's sexiest super sports car ever built, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

Bruce Wayne's newest Lamborghini can be first seen prowling the streets in the movie's new, extended theatrical trailer shown in theatres May 2, 2008, prior to "Iron Man."

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe is not Bruce Wayne's first Lamborghini. The association with the marquee began in 2005 when Propaganda Global Entertainment Marketing, Lamborghini's entertainment marketing firm for worldwide activities, brokered the deal for the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster to make its on-screen debut in "Batman Begins." In the film, Bruce Wayne can be seen driving the Lamborghini supercar to an exclusive party with two beautiful models in the passenger seat.

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe appearing in "The Dark Knight" is powered by a 640 horsepower 12-cylinder engine and is capable of more than 211 mph.

"The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is the natural choice for Bruce Wayne's other car," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

"Lamborghini is proud to be associated with one of the greatest movie franchises in history, co-starring with the night-bound Batmobile."

"The Dark Knight" is set to be released in theatres worldwide on July 18, 2008.

Canwest Broadcasting has the jump on Canada's other commercial broadcasters after signing a deal with NBC for a slate of US TV series ahead of the LA Screenings.

It's the first time a Hollywood TV studio has struck a deal for its programs before the annual screenings, which traditionally signal the start of the buying season.

Canwest, operator of the Global and E! networks, has bought four new prime-time series and renewed its contract on NBC shows it already carries.

Among the new offerings:

Knight Rider, the reprise of the 1980s series about a crime-fighting car.

My Own Worst Enemy, about a suburban dad who lives a secret life as a spy, starring Christian Slater.

Kath and Kim a mother-and-daughter comedy starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair.

An unnamed spinoff of The Office, which will begin mid-season.

Canwest has renewed hit shows such as House and Heroes.

NBC vice-president Ron Suter said it agreed to an early sale in a strategy to "get out in front with advertisers", with NBC the first of the US networks to unveil its fall lineup.

Barbara Williams, executive vice-president of content at Canwest, said the deal includes programming for its 21 specialty cable channels.

"As the television landscape continues to evolve, Canwest is proud to be in business with one of the industry's most innovative companies," she said.
