Infinitum Nihil, the production company owned by actor Johnny Depp has acquired screen rights to author Nick Tosches novel "In the Hand of Dante", to be developed as an acting vehicle for the star.
With a Warner Bros. first-look deal, Depp will devcelop/produce the property with his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski.
Published in 2002, the premise of Tosche's novel focuses on author Dante's masterwork "The Divine Comedy," with parallel storylines involving Dante in 14th-century Italy as he tries to complete the work, and a contemporary storyline involving Tosches (Depp) who is asked to authenticate what might be Dante's original manuscript.
Infinitum Nihil will next produce "The Rum Diary", with Depp reprising his "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas" role as journalist Hunter S. Thompson, for writer/director Bruce Robinson...
