Actors Luke Goss and Jenna Dewan are now attached to star in "Magdalena", an adaptation of the Top Cow comic book series, following the adventures of a female 'holy warrior'.
Dewan will play 'Patience', a young woman who discovers she's part of a lineage of female warriors, descended from 'Mary Magdalene' to fight supernatural evil.Goss will play 'Kristof', an agent sent by a secret organization that guards the lineage.
Dewan's film credits include "The Grudge 2" and "Step Up".
Goss, a former member of U.K. pop duo Bros, currently appears in director Guillermo del Toro's "Hellboy II: The Golden Army".
"Magdalena" is set up at producer Gale Anne "Hulk" Hurd's Valhalla Motion Pictures and Platinum Studios/Top Cow Prods.
Hurd recently produced Marvel's "The Hulk" in Toronto and "The Punisher: War Zone" in Montreal.
Kevin "Alone" Taft adapted the "Magdalena" screenplay from the comic book series.
The film's present-day action-adventure storyline is being compared to "The Da Vinci Code" by author Dan Brown."'Magdalena' is exactly the kind of project we love," said Hurd.
