Production began in early 2005 under the supervision of Brooksfilms Limited, MGM and Berliner Film Company GmbH.
A total of 13 episodes were planned to be aired on G4, and while originally scheduled to premier Summer 2007, no date has been set for the series premiere, although reports peg the release in the Fall, around the time frame as the new Clone Wars theatrical/TV releases.
Mel Brooks supervised the writing of the series and voices the two characters 'President Skroob' and 'Yogurt', from his original 1987 film.
