Zombies Rise For Work In "Babylon Fields"

"Babylon Fields" is an upcoming, 1-hour dramatic CBS TV pilot, set to film in Long Island, New York mid-March.

Premise of the show has resurrected dead people aka 'zombies', working at normal jobs.

Michael Cuesta will direct from a teleplay by Michael Atkinson and Gerald Cuesta.

Amber "Joan of Arcadia" Tamblyn will star, playing 'Janine Wunch'.

Casting is still looking for:

'JIMMY VISKUPIC'

22. One of 'Lester Viskupic''s sons, kind, and level-headed, he's scared of the zombies, not to mention his dad's sudden military nut-job act. Jimmy wears a metal crutch on his arm and sports withered, shortened legs. He ushers 'Shirley' and 'Janine' inside the house for their safety and worries when Janine runs off to confront 'Ernie Munch'.

'DALE'

22. He is Jimmy's dimbulb ex-jock brother; probably not the best man for the job of mixing chemicals to create bombs in the Viskupic make-shift military production line.

A Talking Penguin Named 'Pepe'

"M-O-N-Y" is an upcoming, NBC dramatic TV pilot, to be directed by Spike Lee, on or about March 7 in New York.

Focusing on an outspoken public advocate that becomes the interim mayor of New York, "M-O-N-Y" stars Bobby Cannavale. Executive producer is Barry Levinson.

The pilot is still casting series regulars:

'MARCIE FUTTERMAN'

30s, attractive, funny with a biting wit, a real New Yorker. She is the Mayor's private secretary, a civil servant who's "been around since the Giuliani administration. She knows everything that's happening in the building." Highly professional, but very warm once the icy veneer is cracked, Marcie had a brief fling with 'Joe Capanelli' about six months back. She claims to be over any feelings she had for him, but now that he's back in her midst, things start heating up a bit.

'PHIL HARRIS'

20s, African-American, Republican party operative. Pleased to give 'Francine' some dirt on Capanelli. Phil learned Joe had a DUI at 16, and hit an old lady;

'SARAH HOLT'

50s. Loving, nurturing wife and mother of 5 grown children. Together they make the difficult decision to take Mayor Holt off life support;

Additional reports also confirm there will be a talking penguin named 'Pepe' in the show.

Welcome to Icarus II

In 2057, the Sun is dying and mankind faces extinction.

Earth’s last hope lies with 'Icarus II', a spacecraft with a crew of eight men and women led by 'Captain Kaneda'.

Their mission: to deliver a nuclear device designed to reignite the sun.

Deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, the crew hear a distress beacon from the 'Icarus I', which disappeared on the same mission seven years earlier...

LA Grindhouse Festival: March 4-May 1

March 4 to May 1, auteur Quentin Tarantino will present the "Los Angeles Grindhouse Festival 2007", an eight-week retrospective screening 60 exploitation films including "Super Manchu", "Wonder Women" and "The Legend of the Wolf Woman."

Many of the classic, indie features were shot in and around the Los Angeles area.

Screenings will take place at LA's New Beverly Cinema, showcasing prints owned by Tarantino.

It is not known whether Tarantino will go for the 'total' grind house cinema experience including sticky floors and piss on the washroom toilet seats, although the "Kill Bill" director reportedly spent months scouring Los Angeles for the proper theatrical 'ambience' to screen his personal collection to the public.
