Steep is a new feature-length, action adventure doc from Sony Pictures Classics, focusing on 'big mountain' skiing told by freeskiers who traveled to Canada, Alaska, Wyoming, France and Iceland to ski some of the biggest uncharted mountains in the world.
Rated PG for extreme sports action, Steep, written/directed by Mark Obenhaus, takes an overall look at the sport of big mountain skiing, started in the 1970's in the mountains above Chamonix, France, where skiers like Anselme Baud and Patrick Vallencant began to attempt extreme ski descents.
The late Doug Coombs who died in a skiing accident in La Grave, France, April 2006, is at the centre of Steep, alongside the sport's greatest athletes including Bill Briggs, Stefano De Benedetti, Eric Pehota, Glen Plake, Shane McConkey, Seth Morrison, Chris Davenport, Ingrid Backstrom and Andrew McLean.
Steep will be released theatrically December 21...
