Director Stephen "The Mummy" Sommers has now received the first draft screenplay of Paramount's big-screen adaptation of "G.I. Joe".
The Hasbro toy creation has spun-off into comic books, cartoons and CG animation, but has yet to make the jump to live-action.
In Stuart "Collateral" Beatty's screenplay, the new "G.I. Joe" characters will work for the "Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity", dedicated to fighting the reptilian 'COBRA' organization.
'Snake Eyes' and 'Storm Shadow' will be a main focal point of the film with prominent roles for villains 'Destro', the 'Baroness', 'Cobra Commander', the 'Dreadnoks, 'Zartan' and 'Zarana'.
