Goyer Sinks His Teeth Into ""Baltimore"...

New Regency has acquired screen rights to "Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire," a graphic novel by Mike "Hellboy" Mignola and Christopher Golden.

David Goyer will direct, with John "Ultra Violet" Baldecchi and Stacy "Jumper" Maes producing.

The Bantam book follows the awakening of an evil on Earth, when 'Lord Henry Baltimore' is bitten by a demonic bat on a WWI battlefield.
When a plague subsequently destroys his family, Baltimore creates a team to fight the 'Red King'.

Goyer, who scripted "Blade" and "Batman Begins", will next direct "X-Men" origin film "Magneto" for Fox, from a screenplay by Sheldon Turner.
