Lionsgate reports that the next "Punisher" movie will be titled "Punisher: War Zone".Set for a Montreal start October 2, the film will be directed by Lexi Alexander, starring actor Ray "Rome" Stevenson as 'Frank Castle'.
The reportedly R-rated screenplay is by Nick Santora, Kurt Sutter, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.
Producers are Gale Anne "Hulk" Hurd, Kevin Feige, and Avi Arad.MHF Zweite Academy Film is financing.
Stevenson is the third actor to play the Marvel Comics character, a Marine-turned-vigilante, after actors Dolph Lundgren in 1989 and Thomas Jane in 2004.
The new film will be set in New York, where Castle will run up against the mobster known as 'Jigsaw'.
