Avary Leading A "Return To Castle Wolfenstein"

Writer Roger "Pulp Fiction" Avary will script/direct "Return to Castle Wolfenstein," based on the video game.

Set during WWII, "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" focuses on U.S. Army Ranger 'B.J. Blazkowicz' who leads a team into 'Castle Wolfenstein' in order to investigate an enemy 'Paranormal Division'.

Producer of the film will be Samuel "Silent Hill" Hadida.

The game was first published by Activision and released November 20, 2001. The single player game was developed by Gray Matter Interactive with Nerve Software developing its multiplayer mode. Id Software, the creators of the original game "Wolfenstein 3D", oversaw the development of the game and were credited as executive producers. The multiplayer side, developed by Nerve Software eventually became the most popular part of the game.

"I’ve been playing the character of B.J. Blazkowicz since the epic ‘Wolfenstein 3D’ first bruised my brain and have ever since wanted to bring his adventures to life on the bigscreen," Avary said.

"It’s time to bust some dams, storm some bunkers and blow up some bridges..."
