South African video director Neill Blomkamp recently showcased a short film, produced in association with Peter "King Kong" Jackson's WETA, promoting Microsoft's upcoming video game-to-film production of "Halo".Premise of the games follow space marine 'Master Chief' and his companion 'Cortana' as they save the Earth from evil alien forces known as the 'Flood'. The 'halo' is an artificial ring set in space, that can become a galaxy-destroying weapon.
Microsoft owns the licensing rights to the "Halo" franchise, with a new version of the game to be released in 2007.
