Tim Story Fights For "The Losers"

Director Tim "Fantastic Four" Story will helm a big screen adaptation of the DC/Vertigo comic book series "The Losers" for Warner Brothers.

Originally written by Andy Diggle and drawn by 'Jock', the updated series was based on a 1970's DC comic book team of WW II soldiers.

The update featured a squad of special forces soldiers who declare war on the CIA after their Agency handler tries to assassinate them.

The new group consists of 'Clay', the leader, referred to as 'the Colonel', 'Roque, second-in-command, motivated solely by money, 'Jensen', the hacker, 'Cougar', the sniper, 'Pooch', the pilot, and 'Aisha', reconnaissance.

Other characters include 'Max', wielding extensive influence over various governmental and military institutions and 'Marvin Stegler', veteran CIA man, relegated to desk work.

Screenwriter Jamie Vanderbilt has been hired to adapt the comic, working from a first draft by Peter Berg.

Berg and Weed Road's Akiva Goldsman/Kerry Foster are producing, with Sarah Aubrey and John Cameron.
