Universal has signed actress Angelina "Lara Croft" Jolie to star alongside James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman in "Wanted", a graphic novel adaptation, directed by Timur Bekmambetov. Filming is set in Eastern Europe.
McAvoy plays a young man who discovers his father is a criminal, only to be coerced into following in his footsteps by another killer played by Jolie.Screenplay is by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, with a rewrite by Dean "Lara Croft" Georgaris, who 'tailored' the character for Jolie.
Marc Platt, Jim Lemley, Jason Netter and Iain Smith will produce.
Executive producers are Marc Silvestri and Adam Siegel.
