Speed Racer: The Mach 5

The live-action feature "Speed Racer" started production, in Europe, May 9, 2007.


The film is written/directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski, marking the brothers' first helming collaboration since the "Matrix" features.

"Speed Racer" is produced by Joel "Lethal Weapon" Silver under his Silver Pictures banner.

Based on the classic cartoon series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida, the big-screen "Speed Racer" follows the adventures of young race car driver 'Speed' in his quest for glory in the thundering racecar, 'Mach 5'.

"Speed Racer" is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, of a Silver Pictures Production.
