According to reports, a sequel to the 1991, Kathryn Bigelow-directed actioner "Point Break" is in development.W. Peter "Patriot Games" Iliff, screenwriter of the original film, will both script/direct the new film to be set in Southeast Asia. Locations are being scouted in Indonesia and Singapore.
Premise of the movie will pick up 20 years after the original, focusing on a surfer turned Navy SEAL on the trail of a criminal gang, with the fate of 'Bodhi', originally played by actor Patrick Swayze to be revealed.
"Point Break 2" is being targeted for a late 2008 release.
