"Starship Troopers: Marauder" in Cape Town

We previously reported on author/producer Clive Barker's upcoming LA/Toronto shoot of the "Midnight Meat Train" and the Sci FI Channel TV movie "Sherlock Holmes and the Curse of the Banshee", prepping to lense in Lithuania.

Now, here's another update of greenlit, genre feature films in pre-production:

"2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys", shooting mid-April. Premise of this film has a sheriff refusing to cover up any further for the 'maniacs' responsible for the missing people in their local area, forcing the creeps to hit the road in what's dubbed the "Pleasant Valley Traveling Road Show". The film will also follow a young TV crew called the "Road Rascals" as they find themselves mixed up with another one of the maniacs' deadly festivals.

"Bunny Lake is Missing", filming in LA and London, UK. This remake is based on the 1965 Otto Preminger film, following events that occur after a woman reports that her daughter 'Bunny Lake' has gone missing. When police find no evidence that the girl even existed, they begin to question the woman's sanity.

"Starship Dave", starts in May in Los Angeles and New York, focusing on 'Captain Barthoon' who seeks a way of harnessing energy to save his own doomed planet, by landing a spaceship, in the shape of a man, complete with tiny crew members inside, on Earth. During their stay, the Captain and his minions are 'contaminated' by the Earthlings' joy of life.

"Starship Troopers: Marauder" starts filming May 21 in Cape Town, South Africa, written/directed by Edward Neumeier, focusing on 'General Johnny Rico' (Casper Van Dien) called back into action to defeat the space bugs.

"Ku", starts late April 2007 in the UK and Romania. In this film, 'Ku' grants a Samurai warrior absolute focus, liberating him of his basic instinct to live or die.

"Pathology" starts in April, about a group of medical students who devise a deadly game: to see which one of them can commit the perfect murder that fellow pathologists are unable to unravel.

"Screech" starts April, in Bucharest, Romania. Premise focuses on seven teenage delinquents who are forced into the wilderness to learn basic survival skills. But things go from bad to worse when terrifying creatures start picking off the group one by one, while spreading an unknown virus that could turn into an epidemic.

"The City of Ember" shooting this summer in Belfast, Ireland, is about two adolescents who unravel a mystery in order to keep their city from being plunged into darkness.

"Stone's War" starting April 2 in Lithuania, focuses on 'Captain Martin Stone' who leads an elite platoon of American and Finnish soldiers as they attack an enemy bunker. As they try to regroup, they are suddenly attacked by the same soldiers they had just killed a few minutes earlier. Forced to flee deeper into Russian territory, they discover one of war’s most terrifying secrets and realize they have woken up a far more deadlier enemy.

"The Heaven Project" starts April 15, in Winnipeg, about a man who has everything he's ever loved stripped away from him. To earn his life and family back, he must face obstacles of mystical origins, endure countless tests of his faith, struggle with his own sanity, and explore the depth and the power of his soul.
