Rod "The Contender" Lurie is attached to direct a remake of "Bloody" Sam Peckinpah’s "Straw Dogs".

The 1971 film featured memorable performances from Dustin Hoffman as 'David Sumner', Susan George as 'Amy Sumner', Peter Vaughan as 'Tom Hedden', T.P. McKenna as 'Major John Scott' and David Warner as 'Henry Niles'.

The action starts after American mathematician Sumner and his sexy Brit wife Amy move back to her rural England home to escape New York City big city crime, only to be trapped and tormented by their hired help, including Amy's ex-boyfriend.

Screenplay for the new "Straw Dogs" is by Reed "The Shield" Steiner, who will also produce for Screen Gems.
