Sony's "Ghost Rider", the Australian-shot Marvel comic book-to-film adaptation starring actor Nic Cage as cursed motorcycle stunt driver 'Johnny Blaze', debuted as the #1 weekend movie at the North American box office with an estimated $51.5 million gross.
The action adenture helped kick-start the industry's overall box-office stats with revenues rising for the first time in six weekends, up 28 percent from the same weekend last year. 
The film was also the best opening weekend for Cage and extended Marvel's winning streak with comic-book to film adaptations.Click here for more "Ghost Rider"
